I just ran into a big problem when I updated to WordPress version 2.3 — they’ve now integrated tags into their core, and I don’t have the time available tonight to edit my theme to include the WP default codes and investigate how import from the Ultimate Tag Warrior plugin.
What’s that mean? My tags don’t work. The two tagging systems are battling for supremacy, & WP is winning, but UTW is already coded into the theme. Lesson learned: always do upgrades when you’ve got the time. 
I’m going to set aside on Thursday to work on this blog, the fiction blog, and the rec blog. The other two are no where near release, ah!, though dork has quite a few spam comments on the welcome post that w-p has. I have the non-php of the working index layout made for dork, & karmacon needs basically a revamping with a more traditional coding premise instead of trying workarounds parts of WP that I don’t understand.
Good luck to me! I’ll need it. Working out all the kinks in a layout is hard enough when you’re coding by hand, but it’s really scary when you’re not sure of the language you’re using and find yourself falling into traps. I know that doing it the right way will save me time later when I know what I’m doing and have to clean up my mistakes to recode for a new theme, but sometimes shortcuts are so tempting.
